This morning we were looking for something to pass away the time before swimming lessons, and I decided to test out The Dressing Game, which was featured in our June/July 2010 feature "Independence For All." I went to the website, and clicked Online Extras, found the article and downloaded the cards for the game (CLICK HERE).
I went in my dresser and got some of my shirts, my husband's shorts, some shoes, hats, necklaces...anything I could fine. I put them all in one big pile in the living room and had the kids sit next to it. They took turn drawing the cards, and then finding an appropriate piece of clothing to put on. For instance, when they picked the "Head" card, they found hats. I think my favorite was watching Travis try to put on daddy's shorts. It was too funny.
Not only was it perfect practice for Travis (who has CP and needs all the dressing practice he can find) but my 2-1/2 year old Emily loved it too. They were too cute at the end in their outfits. Take a look...

School's out and it is the official start of summer. It couldn't be a better time to launch our brand new magazine, Florida Crossroads. We worked all through the winter and spring to develop a publication that would be fun to read, helpful and encouraging. I hope that's what you'll think when you read it! If you haven't already, check out the digital issue here.
Next weekend, June 18-20, we will debut the issue at the Family Cafe. Online registration is closed for the event, but you can still register on site. The event will be held at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. (Click Here for a schedule of events).
We'll have plenty of magazines to pass out, plus a Community Center (where we will walk you through the ins and outs of Crossroads Community) and a photo contest! Bring your smiling faces because we'll be taking pictures to add to our online gallery and use in the next issue of the magazine.
If you can't make it to the Cafe, that's okay. We'll blog about it and share our photos. Be sure to sign up for our blog, so you'll know what's happening. And, don't forget to register for a FREE digital subscription to Florida Crossroads.
